SUMMARY:First Seasearch Dive of the Season
DESCRIPTION:The Monitoring scheme season kicks off with the first site visit in May. \nIf you are wondering what our Seasearch monitoring dives are all about: \nOur club adopted the Muglins as part of the Seasearch Adopt a Site monitoring scheme in 2015.  Subsequently we also adopted Sandycove. It is a citizen science scheme with the objective of collecting data on marine biology in order to better understand our environment and how it is responding to changing conditions. \nA group of us did a training day to learn how to identify a list of target species and once a month we do a “Seasearch dive“.  We then send in a report on what species we saw on the day and this data is entered into a national data base.  The Curragh Sub Aqua Club made the first official recording of a crayfish on the east coast at the Muglins in 2017. \nIf you’d like to help out and make a difference\, contact training@CSAC.ie \n \n
